Converters
- Copper
- Bare bright, number one and number two copper, wire, pipe and sheet, plus insulated wire priced on its recoverable content. The highest-value family by weight, so it is worth listing separately in the enquiry rather than inside a mixed load.
- Aluminum
- Extrusion, cast, cans, siding, wire and litho sheet. Grade drives the price more than quantity does, which is why a photo is more useful than an estimate.
- Steel & iron
- Structural steel, HMS, shred, cast iron, rebar and light iron. Low value per pound and high value per load, so the route usually depends on quantity and access rather than grade.
- Brass & bronze
- Yellow brass, red brass, bronze, valves and fittings. Mixed brass is sorted before it is priced, so tell us roughly what is in the pile.
- Mixed & other metals
- Stainless steel, lead, zinc, nickel, e-scrap and genuinely mixed loads. Not sure what you have? Photographs are enough to start — sorting it out is part of the review.
- Catalytic converters
- Priced on platinum, palladium and rhodium content, and regulated: documentation and proof of legal ownership are required. This is the one family with its own dedicated route, and the enquiry will say so.

What people ask before sending a scrap metal enquiry.
Is there a minimum quantity?
There is no strict minimum for a drop-off. Collection generally needs a load large enough to be worth the trip, and which threshold applies depends on the material and your location — send the enquiry and it will be answered for your area rather than in general.
Do I need any documentation?
Nothing is needed to send an enquiry. Regulated material — catalytic converters in particular — requires documentation and proof of legal ownership before any purchase. By submitting you confirm you are the legal owner of the material.
Can I sell scrap from a business or job site?
Yes. Contractors, demolition crews, renovation companies and industrial operations are routine, including standing arrangements with documented weight tickets and payment records for your accounting.
How are prices worked out?
From current commodity market rates — LME, COMEX and regional indices — for the grade you actually have. Those move daily, so a price reflects what the material is worth at the time, not a fixed list.
How would I be paid?
By check, direct deposit, or electronic payment, once the material has been weighed and verified under the terms agreed with you. Different materials follow different routes, so the payment route is confirmed as part of the review rather than assumed.
